Our Lady of the Hog

There are a lot of these motorcycle clubs dotted around the countryside in Middle Tennessee. Usually, in remote locations and adorned with just the name of the club. The one for the Street Syndicate MC in Smithville is unlike any of those. It’s almost downtown and as you can see these guys are not trying to hide out.

Once I got past the awesomeness of what had been done to the building, I struck by how style of the portraits of the lady rider reminded me of El Greco paintings of the Virgin Mary; see his Immaculate Conception for more content. Once I finally stopped and took a picture and got back home that was when I could really appreciate the portraits better. Not only are they heavily influenced by that type of Spanish art they are also crossing over with the Tarot to create something mystic alongside the divine.
